Because of the bad CO2 emissions and no air bag.

SOME MORE WORDS ABOUT THE CANCELLATION OF SALES OF THE T2 CAMPER IN HOLLAND
The T2 Camper was sold in the Netherlands by a department of the Dutch importer Pon.
Due to stringent regulations in the Netherlands, the VW T2 had te be first licensed in England and later became known as "second hand" sold to the customer in the Netherlands.
I personally think that this practice along with disappointing sales and technical "imperfections" as no airbags and ABS, has been criticized not only by Pon and also from VW in Wolfsburg.
Moreover, in the Dutch Parliament asked questions about the sale of a "new car" with high CO2 emissions
