- 1Z maskinist 160.000km
- Clutch (typ forsterket TDi)
- Pakninger og oringer hist og her på motoren
- Dieselslanger
- Olje og filter
- Regreim og strammehjul
- Hydraulikkslanger til oljekjøler

Hello to all, Michal here! I am happy to be proud new owner of this beautiful beast! I have plenty of ideas and plans, but still many concerns as well. I will do my best to keep this thread and history of car alive. I need to stick to english, since my norwegian skills are still to weak, hope it is not a problem. Cheers!

Thanks Hans! I will do my best to keep it in shape. Hard to present a full list, since I am still not sure which way to go. Plenty ideas in my head as I said… I am not planning to use it off-road, more like expedition car for shorter and hopefully longer trips. Thanks to the previous owners
car is in great technical condition, so I am not planning to do any mods in suspension, drive or engine in close future, except of common service or of course possible surprises. I am continuously studying web about engine and how to get more power, but as per now I don’t feel it necessary.
Main plan is to travel to my homeland this summer and leave the car there for winter time. Hope to do following stuff during that period:
-Total body work. Current paint is quite solid and robust, but there are some rust sources I would prefer to take care of as soon as possible. Color not decided yet. One option is to go back to original titian red, since interior pain is in really good condition. I like the gray one as it is now as well. It will be hard decision. Rims will be refreshed with powder coating,
-Interior renovation. New fabric on RnR and front seats. Also door and trunk sides. Fabric not decided yet. Still not sure if I should try to get original front seats. Saab seats are very comfortable and I to be honest I don’t have reference to originals to compare… Any opinions?
-Need to think about electro part as well. Maybe some additional lights at side above sliding door and inside, we will see.
-Mount passenger seat swivel,
-Full length roof rack,
-Spare wheel on holder at back,
-Ladder at back,
-Awning,
-Fix the Eber if possible,
-Need a cooker and plenty of other stuff, but that will definitely come in the meantime.
Of course, hard to say how many items I will manage to get done before next spring, but at least I need a plan
First question to you guys. Seat of RnR bed in unfolder position is supported only by plywood trunk. It makes it not stabile and bended down. Do any of guys that have Trufa interior found a good solution for it? I was thinking to simply add some foldable legs or preferably sort of sliding rails to support the seat.

The seat originally comes with simple foldable legs. At least one leg by the sliding door. Forgot to adress that at the viewing.

Thanks Hans. No worries, I will figure out something. Has anyone picture of such leg available by any chance?

Hyttetur this weekend and starter is getting slowly dead... Blocked few times. Does anyone know if this one from Biltema will fit 1Z engine? Is quality ok? Starter at mekonomen costs approx. 3500NOK, which is quite crazy...

Check out the grounding cabels on the engine block and gearboks and the el part on the ignition key first, they often fails and it look like starter failure.

Thanks for feedback. I although think it is a problem with solenoid. It bocks down and after I push the car on gear it unblocks and work fine one of two times. It used to block earlier once in a while as well, but it seems now it is almost dead... Any chance to replace solenoid only or better to go for whole new unit? Any opinions about biltema starters? Will be fun to drive back tomorrow, especially on feries

Check or mount extra ground cable before you do anything else.

Done but unfortunately that is not the reason.
