Re: Coolant leakage

Thank you Paul for your input. The underside of the engine on my car is not like the image you posted.
I have got the images of the underside. How do I post them on this page?

Coolant leakage

Hi Guys,
Need help :(
I have a coolant leakage from a large screw from under the engine (2.1I 112 HP) 1987 model.
The screw is located not far from the oil drain plug.
Unfortunately I can not upload an image.
What is this screw for and how do I stop the leakage?
Kind regards :)

Uneven acceleration.

Hi Guys, Lately my car (VW Caravelle, 1987 model, 2.1L, 112HP) has shown sign of uneven acceleration. At times I have jerking motion while accelerating. It seems the fuel flow is stopped for a second or so. The fuel tank along with fuel pump and the fuel filter are new so dirt in the fuel is out of ...

Re: Driving lights (kjørelys, 1987, 2.1l, 112 HP)

Thanks Guys for all the suggestions and the tips. I really appreciate it. I have checked all the fuses and the wires behind the fuse box. No sign of overheating, burned wires or melted fuses. I opted for the easiest solution like some of you Guys. Took out the relay. I better get used to using the l...

Re: Driving lights (kjørelys, 1987, 2.1l, 112 HP)

Tried to get hold of a new relay at my local VW dealer. No luck. Even Møller can´t help. Checked the wires behind the fuse box. Everything is intact. No sign of overheating. The wipers works fine. All systems are OK except for the driving lights. Any idea where can I get hold of a new relay? Is ther...

Re: Driving lights (kjørelys, 1987, 2.1l, 112 HP)

Thanks Alf for a quick reply. Where is the relay located? Is it one of those in the fuse box? If yes which one?
Kind regards.

Driving lights (kjørelys, 1987, 2.1l, 112 HP)

Hi Guys, Yesterday when I started the car the driving lights (kjørelys) didn´t switch on. (1987, 2.1l, 112 HP) Only the parking lights came up. Low beam and the high beam worked fine on using the switch. I have checked the bulbs and they are fine. What could be the reason? Defect relay perhaps? Guys...

Petrol. 95 Lead - free Petrol contra 98 Lead - free.

Hi,
98 Lead free petrol is becoming a rare item in my part of the district.
Only Statoil has it. It won´t be long before they discontinue selling it.
Can I use 95 lead free on my car instead of 98 lead free. (1987, 2.1l, 112 HP)
Thanks.

Center Caps for Coach Rims.

Hi,
Glenn (zapperx) was kind enough to let me have his old coach rims.
I need center caps for the rims. Is there anyone on the forum who has the caps and don´t need them?
I can use them.

Re: Nuts and Bolts original coach rims

No way I am throwing my old nuts and bolts. You should have tried at Mekonomen.
I think they have the nuts for steel wheels at NOK 30 each.

Re: Nuts and Bolts original coach rims

Thank you Guys for the tips. The tires are now mounted on the car. I got hold of bolts at Biltema, a set of 10 for Kr.139 and nuts at Dekkmann, a set of 10 for Kr.280. A total of Kr.419. Not bad. All well. :D

Re: Nuts and Bolts original coach rims

Will I have to change the studs at the rear or perhaps nuts are available that would secure the coach rims safely on the original studs.

Nuts and Bolts original coach rims

Hi Guys, Is there a difference between the length of bolts and studs on a VW coach and a VW Caravelle 1987, 2.1 L ? (Standard bolts and Nuts) A kind person was kind enough to donate me his coach rims. See the image. When I tried to fit them on my car the Bolts and Nuts seemed to be short. They would...
