Seeing as I look at this forum, and wonder what the hell you are all on about, bit difficult to join in so I'll just prattle on about my bus for a moment in the hope that you understand all the drivel below!

1990 T3 Westfalia Atlantic.

Smoked indicators.
Smoked back lights.
Carat tail light blenders.
Aero style fuel filler (T3 Tuning)
Lowered on AVO -50mm springs (the trial set)
Bilstein B6 dampers (to be replaced with re-engineered AVO items)
Poly bushed where possible.
All new bushes, bearings and ball joints.
New coolant pipes.
New PAS pipes.
Porsche "Sport Classics" from a Boxter.
Headlamp washers added.
Central locking added.
Rear disc brake conversion (www.ultimate-engineering.co.uk)
Rear 21mm anti roll bar using new factory "Krankenwagen" (Ambulance) trailing arms.
Brand new 1.9TD "AAZ" engine.
Hybrid turbo (Larger compressor wheel)
Barrel charge cooler system.
25 row Setrab oil cooler with thermostatic take off plate.
80°c thermostat.
Brickwerks throttle lever kit.
Brickwerks engine lid plate.
Rebuilt "AAR" gearbox from 2.1 caravelle with limited slip differential.
Porsche type CV joints.
K&N Apollo air filter.
More silicone hoses than you care to imagine!! ???? gggrrr.
2.5" stainless sports exhaust.
Rover 220d boost pin.
VDO Exhaust gas temperature gauge.
VDO Boost gauge.
T3 Tuning beauty rings to dashboard.

Basically, this thing has been rebuilt, seems I bought it when just about everything needed doing!

It turned into the Brickwerks test bed!

I also have a T4 and a 3B Passat Sport, and my legs!

Those hella lights on the front, are they comet 550's mounted on your mounting brackets? I have a set of 550's and was going to order some brackets from you, but i decided to just bolt them to the bumper instead. Now that they are mounted they sit very close to the front panels, and i just can't figure out how they could possibly clear it if I used the brackets? maybe you have a pic of them mounted?

Nice van btw. I have a small identity crisis these days, I consider myself a syncro guy but suddenly i find myself falling for lowered vans, which i used to hate

I had the brackets made from stainless - a one off, hand made as a direct copy of the originals.
A few people with GRP bumpers said that they liked them so I am having them laser cut and CNC bent at the moment. They are already at the machine shop.
Won't be done for a while, I have just committed to having the 4 speed gearstick remade (in solid bar, not hollow) and that has tied my spare funds up but they will be available soon.
Oh, and you should know better to buy parts from "That large retailler of Just VW van parts.."

They care not of the quality, just the price.

Oh, and yes, I think they are 550's, infact no, I think they are 450's with 100w bulbs. very bright!
I made a bespoke loom for them in wire as thick as your d*ck, and a relay up to the OE switch.

Some more piccies for you

Excuse the dirty engine bay and the poor charge cooler plumbing, it was a temporary measure to get to last years Vanfest!
Mind you, it's not got much better since!

Engine uses a 1Y (or 1X) inlet manifold which needed the side of the engine bay to be "Fettled" to allow it to fit!

Also see the charge cooler I was going to use but didn't, it wouldn't go where I wanted it so I changed to the barrel design, much easier to find a home for and a short inlet tract too, no mass of pipes running everywhere.
Net result is a AAZ that goes as well as my old Mtdi, and goes better than my friend current mtdi (also in an Atlantic).
Because i used the 1Z flywheel (that went on a BIG diet!

) I lost my timing marks, I'm not 100% certain that the marks are made are acurate as all the power is at the bottom end, and it is poor to start when warm unless you pull the cold start cable. It has a sweet spot where it is really quiet and economical, about 65mph and the EGT's are low, around 650°F so I'm happy with it, it did get better once I advanced the timing slightly, I may do a little more or remove a shim from the advance piston and do the governor mod to pep it up a little, my problem is getting the time! too busy with everyone elses vans to bother with my own!
Power steering pipes blew on the journey home from my anual holiday so we had to do those last week so I can go to vanfest!

What brand is that chargecooler? Looks tidy, no problem using the original airfilter if its tucked in behind the rearlight....

Edit: How much fettling is needed to make the 1Y intake fit....? Obviously a lot easier to fit this kind of chargecooler with the intake facing the opposite way of the 1z that i´m using....

RE: Bodywork, I had to notch the chassis by about 50mm high by about 200mm long by about 15mm into the chassis, I'll see if I can find a picture.
